"We have been taking lessons for 3 months now with Adam Holmes and couldn't ask for a better experience overall. We chose Park Slope Music Lessons due to a recommendation from a friend and we loved the use of color coded keys to teach young children to build confidence and love of music in a fun and approachable manner. Even her first recital which was virtual was a lovely experience. Andrew the owner really made the whole event a fun live "event" even when though all performances were actually pre recorded. The attention to detail, including mailing beautiful recital certificates to each student in advance, and the ability for friends and family to tune in via zoom from wherever in the world, made the whole thing much more fun, accessible, and stress free than I recall my own anxiety laden live recitals growing up! Watching the other students made her even more excited to play piano that she went and played even more songs for her grandparents and aunt via zoom after the recital!"

"Andrew is an incredible music teacher. He approaches his student and his lessons with enthusiasm and confidence in the ability of every child. Music is incredible for brain development and attention; the years my daughter spent studying with Andrew enriched her in myriad ways. Not only did it instill a love of music but it made her interested in the mechanics of it, how music and art is made; what it takes to get better at something; how to manage your time.

I was always happy to attend a lesson with her, which was welcome and encouraged. Andrew is easy-going but motivating, kind, demanding when necessary, encouraging. He listens to what each kid wants because he believes that students do best when they are playing what they love. And he makes them love it!
